We are pleased to welcome you to the Cree-Québec Forestry Board Website. To begin with, the Board was created in the wake of the Agreement concerning a new relationship between le Gouvernement du Québec and the Crees of Québec, signed on February 7, 2002. This nation-to-nation agreement contains an important forestry component that provides for the implementation of an adapted forestry regime allowing to better take into account the Cree traditional way of life, greater integration of concerns relating to sustainable development and participation, in the form of consultation, by the James Bay Crees in the various forest activity planning and management processes.
