The Board is an autonomous organization composed of eleven members, five of which are designated by the Crees while the other five are named by the government of Québec. The Board functions under the leadership of the chairman, named by the government of Québec after consultation with the Crees.
Each party covers the costs relating to the participation of its members on the Board as well as half of the Board’s operational budgets. The Québec government is responsible for the chairman’s remuneration.
